The Queen of Bad
Unit Production Manager
1983. Carmen Chando, a fading folk icon, faces a pivotal moment in her career when her manager, Brett, delivers an ultimatum: reinvent herself as an '80s popstar, or risk losing her record label. Carmen reluctantly agrees to the comeback. She soon meets Matthew– a young, timid intern at the record company. She discovers not only his passion for music, but also his secret crush on a fellow intern, Claire. Something clicks within Carmen when she encourages Matthew to express his true feelings to Claire through a heartfelt song. In light of her advice, Carmen subverts the label's expectations by delivering a moving a cappella performance to the company executives– a drastic departure from her mandated pop star transformation. This gutsy move ultimately results in Carmen’s label dropping her. However, when Carmen witnesses Matthew passionately serenading an enamored Claire, she finds an unexpected sense of solace and contentment.

Quarantine Around the World
Director/Producer/Editor
When COVID-19 became a global pandemic, the entire world shifted. People from all over the world and from all different walks of life were affected. I was really curious about how people around my age were being affected by the quarantine and I wanted to see what it was like in different continents. I contacted one person from each of the 6 continents (excluding Antarctica) and I asked them to take a vlog style update every couple weeks in the pandemic until quarantine was over. Obviously COVID-19 is still very much prevalent in the world, but I got all the main points I wanted. What I learned is that no matter where we are in the world, we are all humans experiencing a global shutdown and the feelings that persisted were all the same. All 6 of us felt the same feelings while in isolation, and it was really eye opening to me to learn about how different countries handled the virus and how the opening up processes were similar and different. What I got out of this though is that no matter where we are, we must stand as one to help heal our world and to stop the spreading of the Coronavirus.
